Study on tool wear estimation for small diameter ball end mill milling

چکیده

Ceramics are non-conductive materials, consequently, they cannot be machined directly by any electrical means. If these ceramics contain some small fractions of conductive components, e.g., as pollutant or glue perform a certain, really low level, local and accidental flash conductivity. The reported research was performed on this border science, with that below the practical also state-of-the-art conductivity level for machining. Even so, micro-Electric Discharge Machining (micro-EDM) cermaics developed varying many times uncertain success. paper describes required, extended measuring system micro discharge milling machine equipped linear encoder, voltage, current sensors. With help installed system, ceramic Al2O3–TiC mixture tested, in particular, process stability, geometric transient zones edges grooves.
